Undersea outages in Asia

Several news outlets have reported multiple undersea cable breaks around Southeast Asia occurring on 12 August 2009. Due to the depths of the water and the fact that – according to various reports and quoted cable operators – multiple cables have been affected, the most likely cause is undersea seismic activity (i.e. earthquakes).

Twitter Access Problems

The Tower of Pisa

Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction. The tower presently leans to the southwest.
